Ted Butler, Golf Instructor

The New Jersey native attended Memphis State University on a golf scholarship. During his four years at MSU, Butler won four intercollegiate tournaments, was named to the All MVC team twice and qualified for the NCAA tournament twice.Butler won the 1969 State Amatuer golf tournament and was elected in 1992 to the University of Memphis Sports Hall of Fame.

After turning professional in 1969, Butler won several state tournaments, played one year on the Florida mini-tour, qualified for the 1970 US Open played at Hazeltine and the 1971 US Open at Merion. Butler also played in four Danny Thomas Classics.


Butler's teaching career started as assistant pro at Chickasaw Country Club then moving to Bert Dargie Golf Academy. In 1980, Butler started the Ted Butler Golf School using video and computer analysis. Since 1986, Buter has taught at Putt Putt Family Park (now Golf and Games Family Park). Butler has an indoor studio, heated and covered outside tee box with access to putting green and chipping area.  In Butler's 41 years of teaching, he has givien over 75,000 golf lessons.

     Adult Lesson: 1 hour $90.00, series of 3 $250.00                                                      

     Junior Lesson: 30 minutes $50.00, series of 3 $135.00

Charlie Long, PGA   Director of Instruction

PGA Formerly the Director of Golf and then Director of Instruction at Spring Creek Ranch.  PGA member since 1997,taught golf since 1988. Charlie has taught several tour players and many successful competitive amateurs.      

Jim Martin, PGA

Taught golf since 1987, PGA member since 1992 - Director of instruction at Quail Ridge Golf Club, for the past two years.  Prior to that, Jim was the Director of Instruction at The Links of Whispering Woods in Olive Branch, Ms. He has taught golf in Memphis for over 20 years.

Bill Noell, PGA

Bill Noell is a Life Member of the P.G.A. of America, having been in the golf industry for over 25 years. While employed as a Head Golf Professional at several courses in both Mississippi and Louisiana, Bill found his greatest satisfaction was in teaching the game of golf. In fact, several of his junior golf students have gone on to play college golf. Additionally, he has served as an instructor for the continuing education golf classes offered thru the University of Memphis and given private instruction at several golf facilities in the Memphis area. Bill offers instruction to players of all levels - anyone who wants to improve his or her game - from the beginning golfer to the more advanced golfer.
